3. How to Build an Automated Webinar Sales Funnel For Your Online Business
Over the past year, I have been obsessing over automated webinar funnels.
I love automated webinar funnels because they allow you to give massive value to your audience and then pitch them something they need, all in ONE seating.
In a busy world full of distractions, being able to get someone to hang out with you for an hour is a rare privilege, so make use of it.
Live webinars are such a hassle to conduct – it’s not just the time you will spend on the webinar itself, but each webinar requires a lot of time spent on prep work, slides creation, email follow-up sequence, and much more…
The solution? An automated webinar.
If you don’t know what that is, no worries! We’ll go through all these in this blog post.

What is an automated webinar sales funnel?
Some of you may be completely new to this, so let me explain what exactly an automated webinar sales funnel is.
An automated webinar is simply a webinar you run on autopilot, without you having to go live.
A sales funnel, as described in a previous post, is a pathway that you want a potential customer to take, eventually leading to a sale.
Putting both together, an automated webinar sales funnel is simply a series of steps you will lead a potential customer through, with the main step being an automated webinar.
Examples of automated webinar funnels
I currently have one webinar running 24/7, 365 days a year:
- The “Ice To Fire” 40K Email Subscribers List Building Webinar, which I highly recommend if you need more subscribers
Why are automated webinar funnels so amazing?
There are many benefits that make automated webinars really awesome!
You are able to…
- Provide massive value
- Cultivate a close relationship with a potential customer as you get to talk to them for an hour
- Smoothly transition to a pitch without losing attention
- … all these, done automatically!
- Sell high-ticket items rather than $27 ebooks on webinars
- Scale your business up really quickly because you don’t have to spend more time on your webinar once it has been created
- Create a “perfect” webinar because you can script everything and ensure that your webinar is clear and covers everything you want to cover (great for perfectionists)
- Don’t have to worry about messing up your webinar
It’s like launching every single day to someone personally, without having to do all the back-breaking launch work again and again.
Is it technically difficult to create an automated webinar sales funnel?
It used to be. But with all the different tools available now, anyone can do it if they put their heart into it. It is definitely not just for the tech nerds.
Won’t people know it’s automated?
Yes, they will!
It is important not to fake a live webinar when it’s not live. A good way will be to say that your webinar is a “webinar on demand.”
As long as you’re providing great value and it’s a topic that people are interested in, people will still watch it.
I don’t know about you – if I’m interested in a specific topic – who cares if it’s live or not? Sign me up!
Alright… are you ready to learn how to build one for your business?

Step 1. Prepare your webinar topic.
You may want to survey your audience before going through all the trouble of creating a webinar.
Ideally, align your webinar topic with whatever you are selling. This will help you to increase your webinar conversion rates (i.e. the number of successful sales per registrant).
Step 2. Create your slides.
I recommend Powerpoint or Keynote for this.
It doesn’t have to be fancy, but it does have to get your point across.
I like to break what I want to teach into 3 main points or strategies to structure things.
Here’s how you can potentially structure your webinar:
- Engaging introduction and welcome + Go through what they will learn (5 Minutes)
- Quick introduction + Your story (10 Minutes)
- Teaching / Content (30 Minutes)
- Pitch (20 Minutes)
Step 3. Record your webinar file.
Because this is a pre-recorded webinar, you will need to record it beforehand.
This is great because you can ensure that your webinar is clear, concise, and engaging!
I recommend using Camtasia or Screenflow to record your screen. Aside from allowing you to record your slides and voice, you will also be able to edit the bad parts of your webinar out using these tools.
To get crispy clear audio, I recommend using the Blue Yeti Microphone. It’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever made in my business. I’ve had mine for 4 years and it’s still working perfectly fine. 100% worth every cent!
Once you’ve recorded it, you want to export it as an mp4 file.
Step 4. Set up a webinar in Everwebinar or Clickfunnels.
Now that you have your webinar file, you’ll need to set it up so that it becomes an amazing automated webinar, right?
The webinar automation software I recommend and use is Everwebinar. I get that there may be other webinar software out there, but this one converts the best for me.
And when it’s an automated webinar, every percentage point matters, because a lot of people will be signing up for your automated webinars! I would say at least 5,000 have people have watched my automated webinars now.

*You can also use Clickfunnels for this if you already have Clickfunnels. (Click here to check out my personal review about Clickfunnels and what it does)
Here are some of the many things you can do with Everwebinar:
- Create webinar landing pages (You can also embed the Everwebinar sign up button onto a landing page you’ve created with Clickfunnels, but Everwebinar provides landing pages too!)
- Create webinar thank you pages
- (that’s the page people land on after they sign up.)
- Create a “waiting room” for people with a countdown (for people who try to enter your webinar room when it’s not time yet.)
- Runs your automated webinar at timeslots you specify. For instance, I can set my webinar to run every day at 2pm, 5pm and 10pm – and Everwebinar will populate these timeslots into the webinar sign up form. You can even set your webinar to run every 15 minutes!
- You get a cool webinar broadcast room for your attendees to watch your webinar in that works well on mobile
- Display your offer at the appropriate timeslot in the webinar
Here’s how it looks like!

- Integrates with your email service provider. This is really powerful because you will be able to tag who has registered, who has attended, or who missed your webinar… and then send targeted emails to these specific groups of people with your email service provider.
- Automate your pre-webinar reminder emails
- Detailed webinar analytics
… and much more! Just get Everwebinar.

Once you’ve set up your webinar in Everwebinar, you’re more or less ready to go…
Let’s go through everything you should have at this point.
You should have your webinar landing page created. Either use the one provided in-house by Everwebinar or create your own custom one with Leadpages or Clickfunnels.
You can check out my reviews for Clickfunnels here: My Personal Clickfunnels Review After 6 Months (+ My Affiliate Bonuses!)
You should have your thank you page created. This is the page someone lands on after they’ve registered. If you’ve created your webinar in Everwebinar, this is created automatically.
You should have created your pre-webinar reminder emails. Just type these inside Everwebinar. This should not take very long, as these pre-webinar reminder emails are not meant to be long, they are meant to simply remind. Or you can just use the default emails provided by Everwebinar – just make sure you enable them inside the dashboard.
You should have connected your webinar setup to your email service provider. This will allow you to keep track of who has registered, attended, or missed your webinar. You will also be able to send them follow-up emails after the webinar.
Make sure you set up your offer inside Everwebinar. That’s the point of your automated webinar funnel, right? To make some sales. At the appropriate timeslot you specify, Everwebinar will prompt users to purchase your product/service.
Step 5. Instill urgency ethically and effectively.
Okay, this is extremely important guys. I’ll provide you with some gold right here.
What differentiates your automated webinar from any other recording on Youtube is built-in urgency. Remember, live webinars work so well because people have to make a decision before you leave the webinar room.
Hence, I recommend creating a “special offer” or “special price” that’s only available to attendees of the webinar.
Treat this as a BONUS for people who’ve signed up. They are always free to purchase outside of the webinar, but they won’t get the special offer. It’s as easy as that.
All of us know on some level that urgency is required, but few of us actually take the effort to do it right.
This means creating BOTH an ethical deadline and a deadline that works.
For this, I use Deadline Funnel, which provides a personalized deadline for each person in your funnel. By providing a personalized deadline, you increase sales by a lot.
The best part is that your deadline is a real deadline. After it expires, Deadline Funnel will automatically redirect them to an expiry page.
I have no idea what kind of intelligent technology this is, but it works!
Step 6. Create a simple follow-up sequence.
Your funnel doesn’t end when the webinar ends. A good proportion of sales will come from your follow-up emails after the webinar!
I recommend not being too fancy initially. Just start with a simple 5-email sequence prompting registrants to watch the webinar replay. Your webinar replay will do the selling for you.
You may even have a second deadline within your email follow-up sequence, where you offer your product/service for a good deal that ends 5 days after the webinar has ended.
This gives people who didn’t purchase on the webinar or who didn’t attend the webinar to have another opportunity to purchase.
The hard part…
If you ask me, the hard part of building an automated webinar sales funnel is not building the funnel itself, but creating a good offer AND a high-converting webinar.
The tech itself is really easy to figure out!
Once again, here are the tools I recommend:
- Camtasia or Screenflow to record and edit your screen
- Blue Yeti Microphone for great webinar audio
- Everwebinar to get your webinar all set up (get $100 off via this link)
- Leadpages or Clickfunnels if you want to create your own landing page
- Deadline Funnel to create urgency that increases your sales (get 14 days free via this link)
- Convertkit if you don’t have an email service provider yet
I hope that this post has helped you! Go create your automated webinar funnel today. You won’t know what you don’t know until you actually try it.
